County of St. Clair seeks an Appraiser III / Assessor to perform advanced appraisal work across personal property, residential, commercial and industrial real property. You will supervise field staff and ensure accurate assessment rolls for contracted local units.

Requirements include high school diploma or GED, MAACO certification or Level II within two years, and experience with BS&A The Equalizer and Microsoft Office. Exceptional analytical and communications skills are essential.

Competenze

• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED required.
• MAAO Certification by the State Tax Commission/Assessment Certification Division with PPE certificate preferred or must obtain Level II MAAO within two years of hire.
• Technical courses in real estate appraisal, law and accounting highly preferred.
• Experience using standard assessing software (BS&A The Equalizer) highly preferred.
• Knowledge of principles, laws, methods and practices of appraising land, buildings and personal property.
• Ability to appear at Board of Review meetings as an expert, prepare defense for appeals, and report on valuation issues.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; strong written and verbal communication; problem solving; and customer service.

• Locate, sketch, measure and photograph properties for appraisal.
