Job summary

Abacus Corporation in Celina, Ohio, is seeking a skilled Housing & Grounds Maintenance Worker to maintain residential housing, campus grounds, and facility systems to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. This hands‑on role requires reading blueprints, performing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry repairs, and general upkeep, including snow removal, appliance service, and turnovers.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of six years of experience in facilities, apartment, property, or building maintenance.
Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical instructions.
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on residential and campus facilities.
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Install and repair drywall, flooring, cabinets, countertops, doors, and hardware.
Paint and maintain residential units and common areas.
Service and repair appliances including refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers, and microwaves.
Maintain landscaping and campus grounds, including snow and ice removal.
Assist with apartment turnovers, inspections, and general property upkeep.
Maintain maintenance records, inventories, and work orders.
Work collaboratively with team members to complete maintenance and improvement projects.
