Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional experience in accounting within property management or real estate development.
• Strong proficiency in preparing financial statements, bank reconciliations, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
• Proven ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion when investigating records and resolving accounting discrepancies.
• Experience executing month-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries and financial packages.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively alongside property management teams.
• Commitment to maintaining accurate financial records and adherence to established accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Ability to manage multiple assigned properties and meet reporting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive accounting tasks including preparing financial statements, posting payments, verifying records, reconciling accounts, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports.
• Prepare monthly financial packages, execute monthly closings, and record monthly journal entries for assigned properties.
• Audit weekly reports for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness, investigating and resolving any discrepancies identified.
• Produce accurate Lost Dollar Reports, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, month-end closing documents, and rent collection reports.
• Analyze residential property management and accounting documents for accuracy, investigate questionable entries, and apply corrective actions using independent judgment.
• Partner with the residential property management team to deliver timely and accurate financial data supporting decisions related to occupancy, revenues, maintenance, and profitability.
• Maintain effective financial controls and accounting procedures to support accurate and timely reporting across assigned properties.
• Complete additional accounting duties and special projects as assigned by management.
