Job summary

TLC Management LLC is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our residential property management team in the Chicago area. You will record and process invoices and payments, maintain AP/AR records, and support month-end close with strong Excel and Yardi proficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an associate's degree in accounting, finance, or business.
• Basic bookkeeping/accounting knowledge.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel functions.
• Knowledge of property accounting software such as Yardi.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Good organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and process invoices, payments, receipts, and other financial transactions.
• Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records; review invoices, obtain approvals, code expenses, and process AP/AR payments.
• Enter accounting data into accounting software or spreadsheets.
• Reconcile bank statements and the general ledger.
• Verify invoices and expense reports for accuracy.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Keep organized financial documents and filing systems.
• Follow up on outstanding customer payments as needed.
• Assist accountants with reports, audits, journal entries, and other tasks.
• Ensure transactions comply with company policies and procedures.
• Research and resolve discrepancies in invoices, payments, balances.
• Manage deadlines and priorities.
