Job summary

The New York Foundling seeks an Assistant Residence Manager to support the Resident Manager, oversee IRA operations, and step in during absences. You'll participate in DSP orientation, supervision, and evaluation, and coordinate staff schedules and attendance.

You will procure clothing and personal items, manage petty cash, monitor expenditures, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with families, agencies, and healthcare providers to deliver safe, person-centered residential care.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED completed.
  • Valid NY/NJ/CT/PA driver’s license with 6 months of experience and 6 or fewer points.
  • Minimum 1 year of progressive experience in residential services; supervisory experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of developmental disabilities and person-centered planning.
  • Regulatory knowledge for residential programs.
  • Budget management and petty cash handling.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Crisis management ability.
  • Documentation and record-keeping experience.
  • Commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback on service plans.
  • Coordinate staff schedules and verify hours.
  • Procure clothing/items, manage petty cash and expenditures.
