Job summary

Burrell Center Inc. in Poplar Bluff, MO is seeking a Residential Coordinator Assistant to supervise clients and staff within a therapeutic recovery program. You will mentor Behavioral Health Technicians, orient new clients, and help coordinate care with the Clinical Team, ensuring safety, documentation, and adherence to policy.

The role emphasizes leadership, crisis de-escalation, and collaboration to support client progress and program operations in a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, psychiatric nursing, or closely related field.
• High School diploma and at least two (2) years of responsible employment history.
• At least one (1) year supervisory responsibility preferred.
• Knowledge of confidentiality laws (HIPAA / 42 CFR Part II) required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support clients/patients during daily activities to promote a safe, therapeutic environment.
• Orient clients to program expectations, rights, and rules; communicate progress to the treatment team.
• Lead, train, and supervise Behavioral Health Technicians; assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and coverage for vacancies.
• Provide direct client care duties including group facilitation, education, recreational activities, and transportation as needed.
• Assist Clinical Team with screening, monitoring (including detox where applicable), assessment support, and treatment planning.
