Job summary

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of laws and rules relating to mortgage lending (RESPA, SAFE Act, BSA, Reg B/Z, HOEPA).
• Ability to build and maintain a residential mortgage loan pipeline.
• Ability to act as primary liaison with borrowers throughout the loan process.
• Experience originating mortgage loans and documenting loan files for approvals.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and to sell and refer mortgages and bank products.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Solicit residential first lien mortgages through realtors, builders, developers, and other professionals.
• Maintain relationships with branches to keep mortgages top-of-mind for referrals.
• Interview applicants to gather financial information and needs.
• Analyze financial, economic, and credit data to inform decisions.
• Negotiate loan terms and conditions with applicants.
• Stay informed about local real estate trends and regulations for mortgage loans.
• Call on customers to develop new business or retain existing business.
