Job summary

Sheppard Pratt is seeking a Residential Counselor in Woodbine, MD. This in-person, 40-hour/week role focuses on direct care for individuals with serious mental illness, helping clients achieve housing stability, employment, and access to mental health services.

You will work one-on-one with clients, support independent living skills, ensure medication safety, and collaborate with a treatment team to implement service plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s preferred.
• Willingness to obtain additional certifications.
• Driver's license with 3 points or less and insured vehicle.
• Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to clients to learn independent living and socialization skills.
• Ensure medication safety and adherence.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individual service plans.
• Provide transportation to medical appointments.
• Document follow-up instructions and advocate for clients.
• Build rapport and support clients through recovery.
