Job summary

Sheppard Pratt in Lanham, MD is seeking a Residential Counselor for our Residential Rehabilitation Program. This direct-care role supports individuals with serious mental illness, helping them obtain housing, healthcare, and community integration while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.

You will work one-on-one with clients, monitor medication compliance, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, provide transportation to appointments, advocate for clients, and document follow-up

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Willingness to obtain additional certifications as required.
Driver’s license with 3 points or less and insured vehicle.
Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

Provide a safe, therapeutic environment and direct care to clients.
Work one-on-one with clients to support independent living and social skills.
Ensure medication compliance and safety during treatment.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement service plans.
Provide transportation to medical appointments and document follow-up instructions.
