Job summary

Shalom House seeks an Assistant Program Manager to join our residential services team in Portland, ME. You will lead, support, and document daily operations while helping adults living with severe mental illness achieve personal goals.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, crisis intervention, and coordinating with families and providers. A bachelor’s in social work or related field is preferred, with 2–3 years of residential MH experience and MHRT-I certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience providing direct mental health services, including individual and group support.
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• MHRT-I certification required or ability to maintain certification.
• Leadership, initiative, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing needs.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, respectful relationships with residents and support their personal goals.
• Develop, monitor, and update treatment plans; provide individual and group support.
• Advocate for residents while protecting privacy and confidentiality.
• Provide crisis intervention and connect residents with community resources.
