Job summary

Shalom House Inc. in Southern Maine (Saco & Biddeford) seeks a Residential Support Worker to provide daily encouragement to adults living with chronic mental health challenges.

You will assist with routines, activities, and safe, respectful care in a supportive home. You will work with a team of case managers and health professionals to promote independence and community involvement, with MHRT-1 certification welcomed and training offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience supporting individuals with mental health diagnoses.
• MHRT-1 certification welcomed; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with daily living activities (meals, personal care, chores).
• Build trust and connection in a warm, respectful home environment.
• Encourage independence, growth and community involvement.
• Collaborate with case managers, therapists, and health professionals.
• Participate in activities like art projects, game nights and outings.
• Assist with medication management and safety.
