Keenan House North is seeking a Medication Specialist to oversee the Medication Observation Program and provide medication support to residents. You will train residential staff on observation practices, ensure compliance, and coordinate with providers and pharmacies to manage refills.

The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to regulations while supporting resident health and discharge readiness.

• Adheres to state and federal regulations; ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
• Maintain medication confidentiality and security.
• Store and retrieve medications from storage.
• Document medications on medication administration records and medication sheets.
• Orient new residents to the program's medication policies and observe medications.
• Report medication misuse concerns to Clinical Supervisor.
• Report medication errors to the compliance department and the Bureau of Addiction Services.
• Directly connect residents to healthcare providers and prescribers; coordinate refills with providers and pharmacies.

Responsabilidades

• Adheres to all applicable state and federal regulations; ensures compliance with the organization's policies and procedures, code of conduct, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
• Maintain medication confidentiality and security
• Responsible for storing and retrieving medication from storage
• Document medications on medication administration records and medication sheets
• Orient new residents to the Program's medication policies and procedures. Observe medications being taken by residents
• Report medication misuse concerns to Clinical Supervisor
• Report medication errors to the compliance department and the Bureau of Addiction Services
• Directly connect residents to healthcare providers and prescribers. Work with providers and pharmacies to coordinate refills and to prevent individuals from running out of medications.
• Responsible for counting, inventorying and disposing of medication. Ensure an accurate return and release of medications to individuals at the time of discharge.
