Job summary

The Michaels Organization seeks a maintenance technician to perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting tasks for residential units in our Illinois community. You will assist with custodial and grounds work, respond to resident requests, and help prepare apartments for move-in and move-out inspections.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of maintenance experience, a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and strong safety awareness.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of maintenance work experience or related field.
• Ability to read, speak and comprehend work instructions in English.
• Must be personable, trustworthy and safety-minded.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic electrical repairs on appliances, fixtures, switches and outlets.
• Do light plumbing, carpentry, painting and repair work as needed.
• Assist custodial and grounds tasks in common areas.
• Respond promptly to work orders and resident requests.
• Support move-in/move-out inspections and make-ready vacant units.
• Keep records of maintenance, inventories and purchased parts.
• Follow OSHA standards and safety policies at all times.
• Coordinate with manager and team for scheduled maintenance.
