Job summary

American Homes 4 Rent, LP is seeking a Field Technician Maintenance to service AMH properties in Irving, TX. You will perform repairs, troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance to ensure homes are safe and functional while keeping a clean work environment.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, 2+ years in maintenance, valid driver's license, and EPA/HVAC certification where applicable. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work with hand and power tools. Competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred, and an Associate degree or technical training certification is a plus.
• Minimum two years of experience in Residential/Property Maintenance or five years in lieu of education.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools.
• Experience with an Apple iPad and HVAC preferred.
• EPA/HVAC Type II Certification required in applicable states.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is necessary.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety methods is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting for water heater, plumbing, garage door, irrigation, and electrical issues.
• Perform various home repairs including carpentry, drywall, roofing, and fencing.
• Ensure HVAC systems are operational and perform tune-ups.
• Maintain equipment in clean, orderly, and functional condition.
• Update and complete mobile work orders within the timeframe.
• Engage with vendors and tenants regularly.
