Job summary

SPM, LLC – Episcopal Place in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support resident comfort and safety. You will be at the heart of our mission to maintain quality living spaces and a welcoming environment across a community-focused portfolio.

You will troubleshoot HVAC and building systems, perform preventive maintenance, and work with a team to ensure timely service requests with care and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Previous property maintenance experience.
• HVAC certification preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, appliances, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Great communication and teamwork skills.
• A passion for providing exceptional customer service.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• A valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of maintaining the physical condition of the community, inside and out.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, electrical issues, plumbing problems, and appliances.
• Complete service requests within 24 hours quickly, efficiently, and with care.
• Perform routine upkeep and preventive maintenance to keep everything running smoothly.
• Help maintain excellent curb appeal: remove debris, pressure wash exteriors, maintain grounds, and more.
• Rotate on-call duties with the maintenance team for after-hours and occasional holiday/weekend support.
• Keep inventory of commonly used parts and materials to control maintenance expenditures.
• Collaborate with team members and vendors and always go the extra mile for residents.
