Job summary

Primekey is seeking a Maintenance Technician to care for our residential properties in the Columbus area. You will respond to work orders, perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and appliance repairs, and help keep units ready for new residents.

This role requires at least 6 months of experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a background check. The team values reliability and clear communication to ensure quality in every task.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 6 months of experience in residential property maintenance, facility maintenance, or a related skilled trade.
• Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and appliance repair.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, team members, and management.

Responsibilities

• Work Orders & Repairs: Respond to and complete resident maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner, troubleshooting issues related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliances.
• Unit Turnovers (Make-Readies): Prepare vacant apartments/homes for new residents. This includes painting, drywall repair, deep cleaning, and repairing or replacing fixtures and appliances.
• Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify and resolve issues before they become major problems.
• Groundskeeping: Assist with keeping the property exterior, common areas, and walkways clean, safe, and free of debris (may include snow removal or light landscaping depending on the season).
• Inventory & Documentation: Keep accurate records of completed work orders, parts used, and time spent. Assist in managing the inventory of tools and maintenance supplies.
• Customer Service: Maintain a courteous and helpful demeanor with residents at all times, respecting their privacy and property while working in their homes.
• Emergency Response: Participate in the on-call rotation to respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies as needed.
