Job summary

Farbman Group is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot apartment building systems to provide a safe and comfortable living environment for residents. You will handle preventive maintenance, respond to service requests, and coordinate with vendors while keeping accurate records.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with 3+ years of residential maintenance experience and strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general upkeep.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• 3+ years of residential or multifamily property maintenance experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and appliance repair.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently, including in occupied units.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs of apartment homes.
• Respond to resident service requests and emergencies promptly and professionally.
• Monitor building systems to ensure efficiency, safety, and proper operation.
• Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs and services as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, equipment status, and inventory of supplies.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and housing regulations.
• Assist with unit turns and upkeep of common areas.
• Support maintenance budgets and supplies management.
• Willingness to work on-call rotations, evenings, and weekends as needed.
