Job summary

Farbman Group is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot building systems across residential communities. You will handle routine inspections, supervise preventive maintenance, and address resident requests to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment.

This role requires 3+ years of experience in multifamily maintenance, strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, and a commitment to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor building systems and equipment to ensure efficiency, safety, and proper operation.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, equipment status, and inventory of supplies.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and applicable housing regulations.
• Assist with unit turns, including preparing vacant apartments for new residents.
• Support the overall upkeep of the community, including common areas, amenities, and curb appeal.
• Assist in managing maintenance supplies and staying within budget guidelines.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in residential or multifamily property maintenance preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, appliance repair, and general apartment maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently, including in occupied units.
• Familiarity with safety standards, OSHA guidelines, and applicable housing regulations.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, team members, and vendors.
• Good organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call rotations, evenings, and weekends as needed.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
