Job summary

Community Counseling Center of Mercer County is seeking a Residential Program Worker to supervise residents and assist with daily living skills. You will report to the Residential Supervisor and help maintain the assigned facility.

Requirements include a High School Diploma with human services experience, strong communication skills, Act 33/34 and FBI clearances, and a valid driver’s license with vehicle insurance. Role involves varied duties, including medication monitoring and group activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with human services experience in a Residential setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Act 33 and 34 and FBI Clearances required.
• Must maintain a current driver's license and vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

• Arrive for work on time, i.e. at least 5 minutes prior to the beginning of your shift.
• Provide coverage for any assigned site.
• Read daily progress notes from previous staff to be aware of recent occurrences in the home.
• Ensure residents attend daily programming as scheduled.
• Enforce house rules and document incidents appropriately.
• Complete merit system paperwork daily.
• Document daily progress notes for residents.
• Complete all required paperwork daily or as needed.
• Monitor medications per the procedure and initial medication sheets after each resident.
• Inform residents when refills are needed and assist in the refill process.
• Count medications before placing in the cabinet and record the count.
• Engage residents in group discussions and activities.
• Assist residents in achieving goals and daily living skills.
• Assist residents with cooking and daily cleaning tasks.
• Assist residents in laundry and other life skills as needed.
• Be available to talk to residents and maintain a professional demeanor.
• Handle emergencies per policy and coordinate with staff as needed.
• Know locations of emergency shut offs and breaker boxes.
• Maintain open communication with staff and supervisor.
• Provide transportation for residents to appointments when needed.
• Attend required CCC in-service training and maintain CPR/First Aid.
• Attend monthly staff meetings.
• Follow the site programming schedule.
• Hold monthly fire drills and uphold licensing regulations.
• Notify appropriate personnel if leaving the group home during hours 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
• Follow on-call procedures.
• Physical demands include lifting up to 15 pounds and driving a 16-passenger van.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to CCC policies.
• Disciplinary action for policy violations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Possess CQI involvement to improve services.
