Job summary

Straight and Narrow, headquartered in Paterson, NJ, is seeking a Shift Leader to provide on-site leadership in our Residential/Outpatient Treatment Facilities and Community Programs. This awake role ensures a safe, structured environment, supports treatment engagement, and coordinates with clinical teams for continuity of care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• One year of supervisory experience.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license; ability to drive agency vehicles.
• Good computer skills; experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Pursuit of CADC/Recovery Specialist credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, disciplined and caring therapeutic environment.
• Supervise RL Associates and cover shifts as needed.
• Respond to crises and de-escalate incidents.
• Document incidents and outcomes in the EHR system.
• Coordinate with medical and dietary staff for client care.
• Oversee daily client rounds and housekeeping tasks.
• Drive agency vehicles for tasks and client transportation.
• Ensure compliance with policies and licensing requirements.
