Job summary

The Arc of San Diego in Lemon Grove is seeking a Residential Lead to support residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities, lead daily activities, supervise staff, and ensure safety and compliance in a residential setting.

You will train team members, organize activities to promote independence, and accompany residents on community outings. The role requires a GED or high school diploma, a valid California driver’s license, and willingness to lead a team with empathy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Possible paths include 30 college units in education, social services, health sciences or related fields with related experience.
• Direct support to developmentally disabled persons preferred; supervision by an Intellectual Disability Professional acceptable.

About the Role:

We are currently hiring a Residential Lead to join our team. You and your team provide care and training to residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting – helping with dressing, bathing, cooking food, and transport to their daily activities, teaching them to adopt new skills and improve their independence. Together, you will also go on recreational outings, enjoying life out and about in the community. As the lead, you will assist the supervisor with the daily operations of the house and provide direction, training and support to the other residential specialists.

Location: Lemon Grove

Pay: The pay for this position is $21.00 to $21.65.

Schedule: Sun- Thurs 12p-8p

Requirements

1. High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
2. Must meet, at minimum, one of the following criteria:
   1. Possession of a valid vocational nurse or psychiatric technician license issued by the Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners.
   2. Completion of at least 30 college or university units in education, social services, behavioral sciences, health sciences, or related fields, AND six (6) months experience providing direct support to developmentally disabled persons.
   3. Eighteen (18) months experience providing direct services to developmentally disabled person under the supervision of a qualified intellectual disability professional.
3. Valid California Driver’s License, current auto insurance, and a clean driving record.

We’d love it if you:

• Have experience with case management systems (Therap preferred)
• Are bilingual in English and Spanish
• Have previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role
