Job summary

The Arc of San Diego is seeking a Residential Lead to guide a team caring for residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. You will assist with daily living activities, teach new skills, and supervise staff to promote independence.

Location is Santee. Pay ranges from $21.00 to $21.65 per hour with Sun-Thu 12p-8p shifts. Leadership, safety, and strong communication are essential, with bilingual ability a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Licensed LVN or Psychiatric Technician is eligible.
• Alternative pathway: 30 college units plus 6 months direct support work.
• Or 18 months direct services experience under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with daily living activities and personal care.
• Lead engaging activities to promote independence and socialization.
• Administer medications when needed.
• Train and support residential staff.

About the Role:

We are currently hiring a Residential Lead to join our team. You and your team provide care and training to residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting – helping with dressing, bathing, cooking food, and transport to their daily activities, teaching them to adopt new skills and improve their independence. Together, you will also go on recreational outings, enjoying life out and about in the community. As the lead, you will assist the supervisor with the daily operations of the house and provide direction, training and support to the other residential specialists.

Location: Santee

Pay: $21.00 to $21.65

Schedule: Sun- Thurs 12p-8p

Requirements

1. High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
2. Must meet, at minimum, one of the following criteria:
   1. Possession of a valid vocational nurse or psychiatric technician license issued by the Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners.
   2. Completion of at least 30 college or university units in education, social services, behavioral sciences, health sciences, or related fields, AND six (6) months experience providing direct support to developmentally disabled persons.
   3. Eighteen (18) months experience providing direct services to developmentally disabled person under the supervision of a qualified intellectual disability professional.
3. Valid California Driver’s License, current auto insurance, and a clean driving record.

We’d love it if you:

• Have experience with case management systems (Therap preferred)
• Are bilingual in English and Spanish
• Have previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role
