Job summary

Star City Heating and Cooling is seeking an experienced Residential HVAC Technician to deliver excellent customer service and maintain the company’s high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency. The successful candidate will troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, perform preventive maintenance, document services, and adhere to regulatory codes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of residential HVAC experience.
• EPA certificate preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and good communications skills.
• Able to lift or carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance to prevent equipment failure and maintain air handling systems.
• Locate and diagnose problems and explain options and costs to customers.
• Assist with repairs of complete systems including controls, thermostats, transformers, and related components.
• Complete service documentation and explain guarantees/warranties.
• Install, repair, or clean refrigerant lines and related components as needed.
• Ensure repairs and installations meet safety standards and codes.

• Compensation: $27-$30 per hour plus incentive and performance pay!
• On-target earnings (OTE) from $75,000 to $150,000 annually!

What You'll Do:

• Troubleshoot and repair ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment to prevent equipment failure by cleaning air handling systems and reheat coils, monitoring and calibrating air handling systems and replacing filters, motors, fans, belts, etc. on systems.
• Locate and diagnose problems, assess the extent of repairs and describe options and associated costs to the customer. Provides a description of diagnosed problems to customer in terms that can be understood with options, as possible.
• Assists with repairs of complete systems to include repairing, calibrating, or replacing controls switches thermostats, transformers, gauges, wiring fans pumps, compressors, condensers, piping, and other functional components of the system.
• Completes all required documentation on services, explains guarantees/warranties and records.
• Installs, repairs, replaces or cleans refrigerant lines, fans, appliance vents, smoke detectors, humidifiers and grills, as appropriate.
• Ensures that all HVAC repairs and installations are accurate, serviceable and that materials used meets the requirements and safety standards/regulatory codes.

What You Bring:

• Preferred 2+ years of experience in residential HVAC services.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• EPA Certificate (Preferred)
• Looking for someone with experience in all HVAC fields, Residential, Commercial, Geothermal
• Valid driver’s license and good communications skills
• Must be able to lift or carry heavy objects of up to 50 pounds to include ductwork, furnaces or materials.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50-75 lbs.
• Ability to frequent stoop encedure to both ;
