Job summary

Boutique Recruiting is recruiting a Residential HVAC Service Manager for the Newport News, VA area. The role leads residential service operations, coaches technicians, and partners with dispatch to optimize scheduling and department efficiency.

You will resolve customer concerns, oversee paperwork and parts, and support repair and replacement sales while pursuing revenue opportunities. A strong autonomy-driven, hands-on environment is offered with opportunity for growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years HVAC experience with residential service focus.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience leading or mentoring technicians.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Experience supporting repair and replacement sales.
• Willing to travel for routes (>1 hour).

Residential HVAC Service Manager

With approximately $8.5M–$9M in company revenue and a strong existing service infrastructure, the company designs, installs, repairs, and maintains residential and commercial climate control systems across Newport News, Hampton, York County, Gloucester, and the Northern Neck. Salary

$70,000–$80,000 base salary and $200k +OTE with Commission

Responsibilities

• Lead residential service operations and ensure efficient completion of daily calls
• Coach technicians, provide technical support, and manage escalations
• Partner with dispatch to improve scheduling, routing, and department efficiency
• Resolve customer concerns and maintain strong customer relationships
• Oversee service paperwork, contracts, parts, and documentation
• Support repair and replacement sales while identifying revenue opportunities
• Drive department growth through strong leadership and operational improvements

Requirements

• 10+ years of HVAC experience with strong residential service expertise
• Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Experience leading, mentoring, or managing HVAC technicians
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Experience supporting repair and replacement sales
• Self‑motivated, dependable, and able to make independent decisions
• Service management and revenue‑growth experience preferred
• Must be willing to travel/drive for more than an hour for routes
