Job summary

Custom Air & Plumbing is seeking a skilled Residential HVAC Rough-In Technician to install HVAC systems during residential construction. You will work on ductwork, refrigerant lines, drains, and venting, ensuring code compliance and quality workmanship on site.

You will read blueprints, coordinate with builders, and maintain a clean, safe job site while meeting project timelines. A valid driver's license and a professional customer-service mindset are required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of hands-on residential HVAC installation experience.
• Experience reading blueprints, laying out duct systems, setting equipment platforms.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Professional attitude and strong customer-service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Install ductwork systems (flex, rigid, metal) per plans and layouts.
• Install refrigerant line sets, condensate drains, and venting.
• Ensure proper duct strapping, sealing, and insulation.
• Verify correct pitch and support of drain lines.
• Coordinate with builders and other trades for workflow and codes.
• Maintain job site cleanliness and safety.

About the Role

Custom Air & Plumbing is seeking a skilled and reliable Residential HVAC Rough‑In Technician to install heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems during the initial construction phase of residential projects.

What You?ll Be Doing

• Installs ductwork systems, including flex, rigid, and metal duct, according to engineered plans and mechanical layouts
• Installs refrigerant line sets, condensate drain lines, and venting systems
• Ensures proper duct strapping, sealing, and insulation
• Ensures correct pitch and support of drain lines to prevent operational issues
• Coordinates with builders and other trades during the construction phase to ensure efficient workflow and code compliance.
• Maintains job site cleanliness
• Adheres to safety standards
• Verifies that all installations meet local mechanical codes
• Communicates material needs, project progress, and any field issues to their supervisor.
