Job summary

Premier Generators, a Power Support Partners Company, seeks an Electrician specializing in Generator Installation to install, wire, maintain and service residential backup power systems. You will connect generators, transfer switches and main panels in compliance with local codes and safety standards.

Responsibilities include site assessments, electrical connections, mechanical assembly, fuel integration, testing and commissioning, plus educating homeowners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge or willingness to learn.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
• Working knowledge of computers and mobile devices.

Responsibilities

• Install residential backup generators in compliance with manufacturer specifications, local electrical codes, and safety guidelines.
• Conduct thorough on-site assessments to determine generator location considering proximity to main panel, noise, fuel sources, and ventilation.
• Connect generator to main panel through ATS or transfer switch with correct wiring and protection.
• Assemble and install generator components following manufacturer guidelines.
• Integrate generator with fuel sources (natural gas or propane) and ensure fuel delivery.
• Test and commission generator to ensure reliable operation during outages.
• Educate homeowners about operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of installations and service activities.
