Stars Behavioral Health Group in Merced, CA is seeking a Residential Facility Cook for the Merced Crisis Residential Unit. The role is on-call and on-site, with compensation starting at $17.11–$20.00 per hour.

What you bring to SBHG

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Licensure & Driving Requirements: A valid California Driver’s License and eligibility to meet agency driving criteria. This role may require operating a company vehicle to transport clients.

Experience

• One (1) year of dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical environment (preferred).
• Experience and knowledge in preparing therapeutic diets (preferred).
• Six (6) months of housekeeping experience in a hospital, hotel, or similar setting.

• This position has the primary responsibility for preparing and serving meals according to planned menus, including therapeutic and special diets, while accommodating client allergies, dietary restrictions, and preferences.
• Maintains proper meal schedules and food temperatures to ensure quality and safety.
• Adheres to all food safety and infection control standards, keeping kitchen and dining areas clean and sanitized.
• Performs general housekeeping duties, including cleaning floors, furniture, closets, telephones, and vents.
• Also provides transportation for clients as needed using facility vehicles.

• Facility & Setting: 24/7 inpatient voluntary program, 16-bed facility
• Clinical Services (Core): Rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services
• Length of Stay: 30 day stay
