Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group is seeking a Residential Facility Cook for the Merced Crisis Residential Unit in Merced, CA. This on-call role involves preparing meals per planned menus, including therapeutic diets, and coordinating safe, timely service for adults in a 24/7 facility.

The position requires a high school diploma, a California driver's license, and prior dietary or housekeeping experience in health care settings.

Qualifications

• One year of dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical environment (preferred).
• Experience and knowledge in preparing therapeutic diets (preferred).
• Six months of housekeeping experience in a hospital, hotel, or similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals according to planned menus, including therapeutic and special diets, accommodating allergies, restrictions, and preferences.
• Maintain proper meal schedules and food temperatures to ensure quality and safety.
• Adhere to all food safety and infection control standards; keep kitchen and dining areas clean and sanitized.
• Perform general housekeeping duties (floors, furniture, closets, telephones, vents) and assist with client transportation as needed using facility vehicles.
