Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group seeks an On-Call Mental Health Counselor for our adult 24/7 Inpatient Crisis Residential Unit in Merced, CA. The role involves assisting adults with daily living skills, facilitating activities, and providing supportive care on an on-call basis across AM, PM, and NOC shifts.

Starting compensation ranges from $19.08 to $21.08 per hour. A High School Diploma is required, with an associate degree preferred; a CA driver's license is also needed.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• One year of direct care experience preferred, OR one year of non-professional internship in mental health.
• Valid California Driver’s License and ability to meet agency driving criteria.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living skills such as eating, hygiene, grooming and other care needs.
• Monitor participation in activities and encourage engagement through positive support.
• Lead activity groups and community outings; model appropriate behavior.
• Maintain accurate documentation of attendance and participation in services.

Education
