Job summary

AKAM is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for a full-time role in a residential community in Miami. The person will ensure safety, functionality, and appearance by performing HVAC, plumbing, and electrical tasks and by addressing work orders promptly.

The ideal candidate has strong maintenance skills, the ability to work independently, and good communication. The position runs Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00am–5:00pm, with Sundays and Mondays off and benefits after onboarding.

Qualifications

• Residential maintenance experience (HOA/multifamily preferred).
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely; own tools required.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• English speaking/writing required; Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance on HVAC, including lines and filters.
• Handle plumbing tasks such as fixtures and lines replacement.
• Maintain ladders, fans, gutters, and AC vents.
• Perform minor electrical maintenance and fixture changes.
• Inspect property and address maintenance issues proactively.
• Maintain equipment in common areas and respond to work orders promptly.
• Ensure safety compliance and HOA rules.
• Update maintenance logs and inventory; assist with events as needed.
• Provide emergency on-call support on a rotation.
