Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our property management team. This role oversees and performs mechanical work to keep buildings, grounds, and amenities clean, safe, and fully functional in a Greystar community.

You will diagnose resident requests, complete make-ready tasks for new move-ins, manage vendor coordination, and uphold Greystar standards through proactive maintenance and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and training.
• Experience in property management maintenance or related trade.
• Own hand tools unless prohibited by State law; skilled with hand and power tools.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate to support management and interact with residents.
• Proficiency with internet, word processing, spreadsheets; property management system experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose defects from resident requests and perform repairs following policies and safety standards.
• Oversee make-ready process for vacant units and coordinate vendors.
• Develop standards for cleanliness and appearance of community areas.
• Inspect work performed by others and implement corrective actions.
• Inspect contractors to ensure quality and compliance.
• Maintain inventory and coordinate supplies within budget.
• Complete monthly preventative maintenance tasks.
• Assist in budget development for repairs and capital projects.
• Support cost-cutting by repairing rather than replacing when possible.
• Conduct safety meetings and stay updated on OSHA laws.
