Job summary

Edmondson Electric LLC is seeking an Estimator to bid new residential projects and prepare accurate estimates in a timely fashion. The role involves file maintenance, proposal writing, and bid management to support project wins.

The candidate will handle take-offs, evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, and ensure bids align with contract costs while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in residential electrical projects.
• Solid knowledge of local NEC code requirements.
• Experience on single- and multi-family residential projects.
• Five years in the electrical trade preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and bid documents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage bids for single and multi-family residential projects (typically 100+ units).
• Bid preparation using builder specifications and bidding tools.
• Take-offs and estimation of equipment, labor and materials.
• Evaluate material, direct labor, equipment pricing and subcontractor quotes.
• Draft proposals and bids.
• Manage multiple bids and track changes through the bid process.
• Review plans for discrepancies and address them accordingly.
• Participate in contract negotiations with clients on scope and quantities.
• Assist purchasing with equipment procurement and pricing adherence.
• Meet deadlines with a sense of urgency.
