Job summary

IES in Washington, DC area is seeking a Residential Electrical Helper to assist with electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. You will support field operations and ensure safety and compliance with company standards.

You will review plans, coordinate with vendors, and maintain accurate documentation while developing hands-on skills in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical documentation.
• Pass pre-employment screenings such as background checks and DMV records.
• English speaking, reading, and writing preferred and used when performing duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work.
• Review project plans, specifications, and work orders to support execution.
• Support diagnosing and resolving electrical issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and electrical codes.
• Coordinate with teams, vendors, and internal departments on project activities.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of electrical work and activities.
