Are you the Residential Director we have been looking for? In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others with a dynamic team by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with our clients!

The Butler Center provides comprehensive treatment for boys (ages 12-21) with emotional and mental health diagnoses. Our staff support these boys in developing and practicing strategies that will enable them to manage their behavior.

Treatment is delivered by a multidisciplinary team comprised of licensed clinicians, educators (with certification in Special Education), and specially trained Youth Counselors the goal of enabling the boys in our service to return safely to the community.

Schedule: Monday 2nd shift, Tuesday 2nd shift, Wednesday 1st shift, Thursday 1st shift, Friday 2nd shift

Due to the nature of our work and the youth who are depending on us, there are times where overtime may be mandated.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Residential Department with the Senior Residential Department members and provide care and treatment of our students.
  • Ensure all Residential systems are being followed and completed on a daily basis and provide on-call coverage.
  • Design and implement residential program schedules, including adequate time for ADLs, chores, evening and weekend activities.
  • Ensure that the residential admissions process is followed, including orientation to the program routines and rules, and check of belongings.
  • Provide constant oversight of scheduling procedures; ensure staffing ratios are met and provide accountability and disciplinary action as needed for all Residential Staff.
  • Function as a member of the Administrative Team, providing input into problem solving and process design.
  • Lead residential meetings and trainings, and run residential shifts when needed.

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor's degree in a human services field preferred.
  • At least five years of direct and supervisory experience in the provision of residential services in a residential adolescent setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of the needs of specialized populations of adolescents; understanding of the range of interventions and treatment required by this population.
  • At least two years of hardware secure treatment supervisory experience.
  • Ability to be certified in DYS Crisis Intervention Model.
  • On-call responsibilities; overtime may be required.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license as transporting students is required.
  • Must have access to transportation.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications.
  • Ability to independently plan and organize one’s own schedule and activities to successfully complete all required tasks.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft computer systems.
  • Demonstrate awareness of racial bias and actively work to reduce/eliminate it.
  • Ability to complete tasks with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Demonstrate respect for cultural and linguistic differences; practice active cultural and linguistic responsiveness.
  • Deliver services while demonstrating respect for and awareness of cultural and linguistic differences.
  • Facilitate family, community and natural support connections that meet the cultural and linguistic preferences of individuals served.

  • Develop Professional Development goals with supervisor and/or supervisees to strengthen understanding of and engagement in diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
  • Engage in supervision, holding space for cultural differences and power dynamics.
  • Available to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as required.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.
