Our Direct Support Professionals assist individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities to acquire, retain, and improve skills in a variety of areas directly affecting their ability to live as independently as possible. Responsibilities include routine housekeeping tasks, administration of medications, attending medical appointments, money management, nutrition, grocery shopping, personal hygiene, proper use of appliances and adaptive/assistive devices, home safety, first aid, and emergency procedures. DSPs provide socialization assistance, transportation, and support in achieving goals identified in the Person-Centered Individual Service Plans.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ethical relationships, foster independence, and refrain from neglectful or abusive actions.
• Communicate effectively with staff, family, and stakeholders.
• Identify ways to improve processes and efficiencies.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation.
• Attend staff meetings and regular training.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Pass background checks.
• Willing to work non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays).
• Valid driver’s license, working vehicle, personal vehicle insurance, and confirmation of agency insurability as an acceptable driver.
• Reliable transportation.
• Excellent personal references.
• CPR certification (preferred).
• Experience in caregiving: 1 year (preferred).
• Adaptability and strong communication skills appropriate for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Compensation and Schedule

• Full-time / Part-time position.
• Hourly rate $15.00 – $16.50.
• Weekend premium $1.00 per hour.
• Midnight premium $1.50 per hour.

• Schedule: 8‑hour shifts, including evening and overnight shifts.
