Job summary

WithersRavenel in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Residential Development Practice. This hybrid role blends independent project work with client coordination, mentorship, and partial project management, supporting accurate design and deliverables.

You will lead layouts, drawings, and quality control, stamp/seal work, and mentor staff while managing scope, budget, and schedule in collaboration with a client-focused team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent.
• 4+ years of professional experience, including client-facing work.
• Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, etc.
• Strong ability to manage scope, budget, and schedule.
• Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to balance technical and client demands independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage all internal aspects and tasks for projects, including review of data, analyzing information, and determining compliance with standards and design concepts.
• Lead the creation of preliminary and completed layouts, design concepts, and detailed design drawings, ensuring they meet our company and industry standards and codes.
• Utilize, teach, and delegate the use of applications to generate drawings, reports, or other technically based deliverables per specific project requirements.
• Stamp/seal work performed, and work performed by those on your team.
• Initiate and conduct quality control processes, propose QC improvements, and mentor teammates on technical aspects and policies.
