Turner Companies is seeking an Intern Architect to join our Design Team in Knoxville, TN. This full-time, in-office role targets emerging architectural professionals pursuing licensure and focusing on residential design.

The position involves coordinating plan revisions, maintaining home plan libraries, and supporting new home design development. Collaboration with architects, engineers, and the construction team is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture required; pursuing licensure encouraged.
• 0-3 years of professional experience; internships welcomed and valued.

Responsibilities

• Implement redlines and revisions to existing single-family home plans based on code updates, engineering coordination, construction feedback, value engineering, and product changes.
• Maintain and organize the master library of home plans, construction details, and design options to ensure accuracy and version control.
• Update plans for elevations, structural options, plan variations, jurisdictional requirements, and site conditions.
• Assist in developing new home plans: preliminary floor plans, standardization, and permitting documentation.
• Support Construction Team by addressing design questions and incorporating field revisions.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and internal teams to maintain accurate construction documents.
• Participate in field visits to understand construction methods and improve plan quality.
