Job summary

Harrell Design + Build in Mountain View, CA is seeking a talented Designer to join our employee-owned design team. You will work with experienced designers, drafting specialists, and construction professionals to create thoughtful residential spaces from concept through construction completion.

Responsibilities include developing space plans, cabinetry and finish selections, client presentations, vendor coordination, and maintaining project documentation and showroom resources.

Qualifications

• Experience in interior design, residential architecture, kitchen and bath design, or architectural drafting.
• Strong understanding of space planning, residential materials, finishes, and design principles.
• Knowledge of cabinetry, fixtures, appliances, lighting, and other residential design products.
• Ability to develop cohesive design concepts that balance aesthetics, functionality, budget, and constructability.
• Proficiency in learning tools: Chief Architect, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Lead Designers to develop residential design solutions.
• Develop space plans, design concepts, material palettes, renderings, and client presentations.
• Research, select, and specify cabinetry, fixtures, lighting, appliances, and finishes.
• Assist with cabinetry design, specifications, pricing, ordering, and vendor coordination.
• Coordinate with CAD and drafting teams to reflect design intent in drawings.
• Prepare and maintain detailed product selections, specifications, and project documentation.
• Participate in client meetings, design presentations, and showroom selections.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for material sourcing and procurement.
• Attend construction site meetings to ensure design intent is carried through.
• Maintain design showroom, materials library, and vendor resources.
