Job summary

Abhealthnetwork seeks a Residential Counselor to provide direct support in a Mental Health Residential Treatment setting. This position is ideal for emerging professionals with a bachelor’s degree or near completion who want hands-on clinical experience.

You will assist with care, group facilitation, case management, risk assessment and crisis intervention, while contributing to a safe, structured environment. Collaboration with therapists and the multidisciplinary team is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work).
• Associate’s degree or 60 credits in a human services field; 3 years of experience in mental health/human services if using this track.

Responsibilities

• Assist with case management tasks including coordinating appointments and discharge/aftercare planning.
• Co-facilitate psychoeducational and process groups under supervision; support treatment goals.
• Document client interactions and incidents accurately per standards.
• Maintain daily schedule and support house routines for safety and structure.
• Collaborate with therapists, medical staff, and BHTs to ensure continuity of care.
