Job summary

Sheppard Pratt in Lanham, MD is hiring a Residential Counselor to support clients in a Residential Rehabilitation Program. This direct care role focuses on creating a safe, therapeutic environment and helping individuals learn or regain skills for community living.

You will work Sunday to Thursday, 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM in person, assist with medication safety, coordinate transportation to appointments, and contribute to individualized service plans within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Driver's license with 3 or fewer points and insured vehicle.
• Willingness to obtain additional certifications and trainings as required.
• Availability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Act as residential counselor, working one-on-one to learn or regain living skills.
• Ensure medication safety, dosage accuracy and cleanliness.
• Collaborate with the service team to implement individual service plans.
• Provide transportation to medical appointments and advocate during visits.
