Job summary

Easterseals NJ is seeking a Residential Counselor to support group home residents with daily living activities and IRP-driven care. You will document services, coordinate with teams, and help residents achieve measurable outcomes.

The role requires strong communication skills, driving as an essential function, and a commitment to high-quality care, with a comprehensive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in mental health, psychology, sociology, or social work, or related field from an accredited college or university OR
• A combination of college credits plus related life or work experience equal to four years OR
• High school diploma or GED plus four years of related work or life experience.

Responsibilities

• Support consumers in achieving personal care goals and address ongoing challenges.
• Educate consumers on medications, track logs, and conduct monthly audits.
• Coordinate services based on individual needs.
• Transport consumers using the company van as needed.
• Deliver high-quality care in line with Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRP).
• Accurately document services within required timeframes using electronic health records.
