Helix Human Services is seeking a Residential Counselor in Springfield, MA to work with youth in our Cottage and SHARP residential programs. You will engage youth daily, lead groups, and support trauma-informed care under supervision of the Program Manager and clinical team.

Qualifications include 1-2 years' experience with children in residential settings, CPR/First Aid certification (training provided), MAP certification preferred, a valid driver’s license, and being 21 or older.

Residential Counselor

The Residential Counselor serves as a therapeutic agent to young children and adolescents with social, emotional, and behavioral needs, at both of our residential programs. Under the direction of the Program Manager and/or members of leadership team, Clinician, Assistant Program Manager, and Clinical Case Manager, the residential counselor is responsible for directly working with the youth to create, implement, develop, and maintain a strong and supportive and trauma informed relationship. In addition, The Residential Counselor is responsible for directly engaging the youth in daily activities, working in groups, and implementing the daily routine. As a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, the Residential Counselor will collaborate with the clinical staff to ensure the objectives of the individual treatment plans are being met.

The Cottage Residential program is an inclusive environment designed to support male clients, regardless of how they identify, who have experienced trauma, with moderate to severe mental health and behavioral challenges.

The SHARP Residential Program supports youth who identify within the LGBTQIA+ community. This specialty residential program supports youth who have experienced trauma, with moderate to severe mental health and behavioral health challenges and may be struggling with their personal identity.

Hiring

Weekdays: 6 a.m. - 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. - 10 p.m.
