Job summary

MultiCare Health System, Inc. is seeking a part-time Residential Counselor in Puyallup, WA to assist adults in behavioral health residential programs.

You will help residents build recovery skills, independence, and community connections, with flexible scheduling supporting a variable shift pattern. The role requires an AA degree in social services or related field (preferred), 1 year experience with mentally ill individuals in residential settings, and health/safety certifications (BLS, First

• AA degree in social services or related field preferred.
• One year of experience working with mentally ill consumers in a residential setting, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• BLS - Basic Life Support, Food Handler’s, and First Aid cards required within 14 days of hire; ACCR credential within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides counseling to help residents re-establish self-identity, sense of purpose and meaning in their lives, which may include developing plans for work, school, and/or volunteering, and making community connections.
• Helps residents develop life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, money management, social skills and knowledge of symptoms and medications.
• Creates treatment plans and discharge planning documents and delivers/reviews with residents
• Conducts individual and group counseling sessions

However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
