Job summary

Wayside Youth & Family Support Network in Arlington, MA is seeking a Residential Counselor to supervise youth in daily routines and activities, and to support skill development in a team environment. The role emphasizes safe, engaging programming and positive role modeling for residents.

The position is full-time (40 hours/week) with Saturday through Wednesday shifts from 3:30pm to 11:30pm and off Thursdays and Fridays.

Qualifications

• Evenings and weekends availability required.
• Valid driver's license required; background checks will be completed.
• High School degree or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and engage with youth/residents in activities and daily routines.
• Support skill building for youth through collaborative team work.
• Participate in trainings and maintain necessary certifications.
• Facilitate recreational activities and provide positive role modeling for youth.
• Assist with transportation and basic needs, including meals and hygiene.

Residential Counselor

Young Adult Program - Arlington

Salary Range: $20.50 - $21.50/hour depending on experience + sign- on bonus (half paid after 6 months of employment and half paid after 1 year of employment/pro-rated for part-time).

We are looking for a full-time employee (40 hours/week) to cover the following:

Saturday - Wednesday 3:30pm - 11:30pm (Thursday/Friday off).

What You Will Do:

• Directly supervise and engage with youth/residents in activities and daily routines.
• Support skill building for all youth/residents through collaborative team work.
• Show yourself to be a willing learner in trainings and maintain necessary certifications.
• Facilitating recreational activities for clients, working with the staff team to ensure the program structure while providing positive role modeling for youth.
• Safe client transportation and medication administration once MAP certified.
• Assist the program in providing basic needs for clients, such as regular meals, a safe and clean living environment, recreational activities, and appropriate hygiene.
