Wayside Youth is seeking a Youth & Family Support Worker for our community-based site in Milford. You will engage with children, young adults, and families in behavioral health, delivering supportive and culturally informed interventions.

Collaborating with the care team, you will help with skill-building, case management, and connecting clients to resources such as transportation or essential services. A flexible, compassionate approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field plus at least 1 year of direct experience working with children, young adults, and/or families.
• Associates Degree in Social Work or related field plus at least 3 years experience working with children, young adults, and/or families.
• High School Diploma plus at least 5 years experience working directly with children, young adults, and/or families.

Responsabilités

• Provide culturally informed therapeutic interventions to children, young adults, and their families, promoting skill building in social functioning, symptom management, coping skills and activities of daily living.
• Collaborate with all team members to ensure continuity in treatment, services, and messages delivered.
• Provide both mentoring and counseling as well as practical support such as transportation and referrals to concrete services.
• Advocate for families and attend meetings as requested by youth and/or family.

Youth & Family Support Worker – Community Based

Salary Range: $22.00 - $28.00/hour depending on experience and degree + sign - on bonus (half paid after 6 months of employment and half paid after 1 year of employment/pro-rated for part-time).

What you will do:

• Provide culturally informed therapeutic interventions to children, young adults, and their families, that promote skill building in the life domainsof:social functioning, symptom management, coping skills and activities of daily living.
• Collaborate with all members of the team to ensure continuity in treatment, services, and messages delivered.
• Provide both "soft" services (mentoring, counseling, skill-building) with identified clients as well as "hard" services including transportation, referrals, accessing concrete services such as furniture, food, etc.
• Serve as an advocate and attend meetings with the family and as requested by the youth and/or family.

MinimumRequirements:

• High School Diploma plus at least 5 years experience working directly with children, young adults, and/or families OR
• Associates Degree in Social Work or related field plus at least 3 years experience working with children, young adults, and/or families OR
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field plus at least 1 year of direct experience working with children, young adults, and/or families.
• Driving in the community is a requirement of this position; please ensure you have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

We will train you in Motivational Interviewing; Courageous Conversations; Trauma Informed Practice; Attachment, Regulation and Competency Model (ARC).
