Job summary

Wayside Youth & Family Support Network in Arlington, MA is seeking a Residential Counselor for the Young Adult Program. You will supervise youth, organize activities, and help residents build skills in a busy, supportive team environment.

The position requires evening hours (Sat-Wed 3:30pm–11:30pm), no college degree required, and offers a wage of $20.50–$21.50 per hour plus a sign-on bonus. Training includes motivational interviewing, ARC, trauma-informed practice, CPR and First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and engage with youth/residents in activities and daily routines.

• Facilitate recreational activities and provide positive role modeling.
• Ensure safe client transportation and basic needs like meals and hygiene.

Residential Counselor

Young Adult Program - Arlington

Salary Range: $20.50 - $21.50/hour depending on experience + sign- on bonus (half paid after 6 months of employment and half paid after 1 year of employment/pro-rated for part-time).

We are looking for a full-time employee (40 hours/week) to cover the following:

Saturday - Wednesday 3:30pm - 11:30pm (Thursday/Friday off).

What You Will Do:

• Directly supervise and engage with youth/residents in activities and daily routines.
• Support skill building for all youth/residents through collaborative team work.
• Show yourself to be a willing learner in trainings and maintain necessary certifications.
• Facilitating recreational activities for clients, working with the staff team to ensure the program structure while providing positive role modeling for youth.
• Safe client transportation and medication administration once MAP certified.
• Assist the program in providing basic needs for clients, such as regular meals, a safe and clean living environment, recreational activities, and appropriate hygiene.

Minimum Requirements:
