Job summary

Wayside Youth & Family Support Network in Arlington, MA is seeking a Residential Counselor for the Young Adult Program. You will supervise youth, organize activities, and help residents build skills in a busy, supportive team environment.

The position requires evening hours (Sat-Wed 3:30pm–11:30pm), no college degree required, and offers a wage of $20.50–$21.50 per hour plus a sign-on bonus. Training includes motivational interviewing, ARC, trauma-informed practice, CPR and First Aid.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication with youth and families.
• Ability to manage risk and respond to changing situations.
• Willingness to learn and complete trainings (MAP certification, ARC, CPR/First Aid).

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and engage with youth/residents in activities and daily routines.
• Support skill building for all youth/residents through collaborative team work.
• Maintain necessary certifications and participate in trainings.
• Facilitate recreational activities and provide positive role modeling.
• Ensure safe client transportation and basic needs like meals and hygiene.
