Job summary

Wayside Youth & Family Support Network is seeking an Overnight Residential Counselor on a per-diem basis to support young adults in Arlington. The role involves supervising youth, facilitating activities, and promoting a safe, structured environment overnight.

Coverage is intermittent for PTO/sick time, with shifts from 10:30pm-8:30am or 11:30pm-9:30am. Training in Motivational Interviewing, ARC, Trauma-Informed Practice, CPR/First Aid will be provided.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license is required; MV background checks will be completed.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Training in coercive situations and trauma-informed care will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and engage with youth/residents in activities and routines.
• Support skill building for all youth through collaborative teamwork.
• Participate in trainings and maintain required certifications.
• Facilitate recreational activities and provide positive role modeling.
• Transport clients safely and administer medication if MAP certified.
• Assist with basic needs: meals, safe living environment, hygiene.

Salary: $20.50/hour

We are looking for coverage for the following shift:

• Intermittent shift coverage for employee PTO/sick time coverage
• Overnight shifts are 10:30pm-8:30am or 11:30pm-9:30am

What You Will Do:

• Directly supervise and engage with youth/residents in activities and daily routines.
• Support skill building for all youth/residents through collaborative team work.
• Show yourself to be a willing learner in trainingsand maintain necessary certifications.
• Facilitating recreational activities for clients, working with the staff team to ensure the program structure while providing positive role modeling for youth.
• Safe client transportation and medication administration if MAP certified.
• Assist the program in providing basic needs for clients, such as regular meals, a safe and clean-livingenvironment, recreational activities, and appropriate hygiene.
