Job summary

Center for Alcohol & Drug Treatment in Duluth seeks a compassionate Residential Cook to support meals for residents in our treatment program. You will work with a clinical team to plan, prepare, and deliver nutritious, well-balanced meals that respect dietary restrictions and safety standards.

The role requires a high school diploma, two years of cooking experience, Serve Safe and CPR/First Aid certifications, and the ability to travel between locations.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of experience as a cook and/or meal planner.
• Must be Serve Safe certified and maintain certification.
• Must have kitchen knowledge surrounding storage, safety, and responsible use of equipment.
• Must be able to demonstrate excellent time management skills and operate independently.
• Must have a valid driver's license and ability to travel between program locations.
• Must pass background studies issued by the Minnesota Department of Human Services

Responsibilities

• Prepares food for patients in the Residential Program in accordance with meal plans.
• Works with Residential Treatment Director on tasks and reports related to food orders and costs.
• Keeps food pantries at Residential locations organized.
• Ensures meals accommodate any specific dietary restrictions or medical needs of patients.
• Maintains meal plans for the residential programs.
• Delivers meals to all residential program locations.
• Prepares and packages meals in advance for days when not on-site and ensures the meals are properly stored.
• Maintains adequate kitchen inventory including supplies, ingredients, and food items.
• Ensures that all food is stored safely and monitors expiration dates.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Works closely with food representatives and vendors on items related to orders and costs.
• Orders all food items from designated vendors and distributors as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
