Job summary

Classic Homes of Maryland seeks an experienced Residential Construction Superintendent to oversee high-end custom home projects from start to finish. The role demands strong problem-solving, multitasking, and client-communication skills to ensure flawless execution and top-tier quality.

Responsibilities include managing scope, schedules, budgets, and compliance while driving continuous improvements in construction operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of residential construction supervision experience, with a preference for high-end custom home projects.
• Strong ability to identify issues, effectively multi-task, and communicate clearly with clients, trade partners, and team members.
• Comprehensive experience supervising construction projects from start to finish.
• In-depth understanding of various construction disciplines and ability to read blueprints and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire scope of construction projects including material inventory, deliveries, trade partner coordination, and timely completion.
• Conduct regular inspections to maintain high-quality standards and client satisfaction.
• Ensure all projects comply with county building codes and regulations and pass required inspections.
• Monitor project budgets to stay within financial constraints while maximizing efficiency.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of construction operations and implement practices that enhance production, quality, and customer service.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues to minimize impact on timelines and quality.
• Identify opportunities to enhance construction management systems to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

What does your day/week/month look like?

Project Management:

• Oversee the entire scope of construction projects, including managing material inventory, coordinating deliveries, scheduling trade partners, and ensuring timely job completion.

Quality Control:

• Conduct regular inspections to maintain high-quality standards throughout the construction process, ensuring that all work meets company expectations and client satisfaction.

Code Compliance:

• Ensure all projects comply with county building codes and regulations, coordinating and passing required inspections to maintain legal and safety standards.

Budget Management:

• Monitor project budgets closely, managing costs to stay within financial constraints while maximizing efficiency and resource allocation.

Operational Standards:

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of construction operations by providing insights into strategic planning and reviews. Implement practices that enhance production, productivity, quality, and customer service.

Problem Resolution:

• Proactively identify and resolve issues that arise during construction, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and quality.

System Improvements:

• Identify opportunities for enhancing construction management systems, focusing on increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving overall project outcomes.

What do you need for this opportunity?

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of residential construction supervision experience, with a preference for candidates who have worked on high-end custom home projects.

Technical Skills:

Knowledge Base:

• In-depth understanding of various construction disciplines, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, foundations, carpentry, and masonry work.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to ensure project accuracy and adherence to design.

Safety Awareness:

• Thorough knowledge of proper safety procedures and the ability to recognize potential hazards on-site, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
